Talamanca Adventures
Where the Forest is Ancient & the Rivers Run Wild

Few places in Costa Rica remain as intact — ecologically and culturally — as the interior of Talamanca. These adventures take you there: up the Telire River through converging wild waters, or deep into the primary forest on foot, sleeping a night in the mountains surrounded by jungle that has changed little in millennia.
Tsiola View Hike & Overnight Camping
Details
Location: River crossing at Suretka and then 30 minute community shuttle
Duration: Approx. 24 hrs
Difficulty: Hard. 14 km total. Steep mountain path climbing at points.
Group Size: 1-10
Cost: 242,000 Colones (1-4 people) + 35,000 Colones per additional person
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to hike deep into the primary forest, sleep the night, and wake to watch the sunrise over the glorious mountains and valleys of Talamanca. Few travelers will ever sleep in the primary forests of Talamanca, at altitude, surrounded by the sounds of the jungle that has remained largely unchanged for millennia.
Before embarking on our journey, we meet in Suretka for lunch at 11am and then cross the Telire River by boat and take transportation to Soki. From Soki, the hike is 7km (approximately 5 hours). Once we arrive, we will cook a meal together, drink cacao and spend the night immersed in the senses of the primary forest (in tents). This is an opportunity to listen deeply, feel, and perceive the elements of nature, living in harmony with the land and animals, just as indigenous peoples have been doing on these lands since time immemorial.
In the morning we will enjoy the sunrise, breakfast will be provided and then we will begin the walk back (about 3.5 hours). Once down from the mountain, we will spend some time near Soki swimming in the Uren river and then catch our transportation back to the river crossing at the Telire and back to Suretka.
Food, tents, and sleeping bags will be provided.

Duration: Approx. 2 hrs
Group Size: 1-8
Cost: 60,000 Colones (1 person) + 5,000 Colones per additional person
In this experience you will have the opportunity to travel up the Telire River by private boat and experience the wild beauty of Talamanca. Both sides of the river provide incredible natural views. The Telire River in Suretka (where we will board) is a blend of many local rivers that converge together, we will travel upriver to the place where the Telire is not mixed with other river waters, and there we stop to swim and enjoy nature for about 40 minutes. Along the way your Guide will share cultural and ecological pieces of knowledge.
This experience will depart from the puerto (port) of Suretka, where there is a secure place to park your car. Transportation can be arranged if needed (for an additional cost).
